An online prayer note is a request for commemoration in the prayer of the Church. On our website, notes for the living and for the departed are separated from the start, and you can choose the exact form and duration of commemoration.
Prayer notes for the living
- Proskomedia is a one-time commemoration during the preparation of the Holy Gifts before the Divine Liturgy.
- Moleben is a separate prayer service for the living, asking for God's help, health or support in a particular need.
- Sorokoust is commemoration for forty days.
- Six-month commemoration is regular prayerful remembrance for six months.
- Annual commemoration is regular prayerful remembrance for one year.
Prayer notes for the departed
- Proskomedia is a one-time commemoration of a departed Orthodox Christian before the Divine Liturgy.
- Panikhida is a separate memorial service for the departed, suitable for an anniversary, a day of remembrance or a particular family need.
- Sorokoust is commemoration of the departed for forty days.
- Six-month commemoration continues for six months.
- Annual commemoration continues for one year.
How to submit a note on our website
- Choose a note for the living or for the departed.
- Choose Proskomedia, moleben or panikhida, Sorokoust, six-month or annual commemoration.
- Select a service from the current schedule, or choose the option asking the parish to clarify it.
- Enter one name per line. The form suggests the church form of common names, while manual entry remains available.
- Save the note. You may then add another note of a different type.
- Review the request and complete the offering.
Registration is not required. A guest can submit a prayer note directly; an account is only needed for conveniences such as request history and saved templates.
How should names be written?
Names are normally written in their church form and in the genitive case, one name per line. Begin typing the everyday name and the form will suggest a suitable church form when it is available. For an uncommon name, you may keep the form you know or contact the parish for clarification.
What should I choose first?
Proskomedia is usually the simplest first choice. Choose a moleben for a particular prayer for the living, a panikhida for a memorial service for the departed, and one of the longer periods when continued commemoration is needed.
